econet opened a Sino-German dialogue on Green Building & Low Carbon City Development in Hefei

The Sino-German Green Building & Low Carbon City Development Conference took place on 23rd April in Hefei, organized by econet china and Anhui Green Building Association.


Anhui province is undergoing a fast development of urbanization. As the provincial capital, Hefei is listed as one of the key cities for developing into a low carbon city in China. The green building standard is now included in the local construction regulations and Anhui Low Carbon City Construction Guideline will be published within the year, as introduced by Mr. Li Jian, the vice director of the provincial construction department.As leading green technologies provider, Germany will be an ideal partner for Hefei on the low carbon city development.

 

The Conference was mainly designed as moderated panel discussion with 3 sessions on Creating Green Buildings and Low Carbon Cities, Optimizing the Building Envelope, Building Technologies and Renewable Energies. econet china partners incluiding Bayer MaterialScience, Bosch, Energydesign, RSAA, Schueco, SGL, Sto, Warema, Wacker and Ytong presented on the latest green building solutions and best practices 'made in Germany', while the local Chinese experts introduced the current status of Anhui and shared experiences.

 

The half day conference gathered about 120 participants from decision makers such as construction authorities, technical personnel from main design institutes and developers in Hefei as well as outreach cities in Anhui Province. The aim is to define cooperation areas where Germany and China could make use of their complementary assets. Experts from both countries contributed to the discussion and shared the measures on the development of low carbon cities.

A project tour of a residential project Science Garden was organized for German companies on 24th April. This project is located in Shu Shan New Industry Park in Hefei and covers a total area of 222438 square meters. It is financed by China Academy of Science Hefei Branch as a staff residential district. Green technologies including heat pump central air-conditioning system and household solar system are demonstrated.
