The Beijing Green Building Park in Beijing's Fangshan District is yet to be constructed. It has been developed in cooperation between Vanke and the Building Research Establishment (BRE) in accordance with BRE's GreenPrint framework. Its goal is to present an open platform, showing the latest best practice in sustainable development in China and demonstrating innovative design and product solutions for both Chinese and international companies. The "German Innovation House" is one of the high-class projects that will be implemented in the park as a model for energy efficient building, which will be built according to the German passive house standard. It is expected to give inspiration for both Chinese government representatives and industrial leaders on sustainable housing. It will be constructed using innovative and cost efficient materials with minimal environmental impact.

A competition announced by econet china and Vanke is currently searching for a world class German and international consortia which will design and build the German House. The design, construction quality and finishing should showcase future housing possibilities that meet householders' aspirations for sustainable living, comfort and healthy living environments.
