The 2nd Bau Congress China Was Successfully Held in Beijing


The Bau Congress China (BCC) 2015 was held from June 23rd-24th in Beijing National Convention Center. As the second sequel in China and following last year’s success, it welcomed over 50 exhibitors, attracted a total of 3023 visitors from 11 countries and regions to attend the two-day congress with accompanying exhibition.

As one of the organizing partners of BCC, econet china offered strong support on pre-event promotion to the main industry players in China. econet china was presented as exhibitor with its partners Unilux (Aluminum-Clad Wood Windows & Doors), Rheinzink (Titanium Zinc Coils & Sheets Façade & Roof Cladding), Warema (Sun-Shading Systems) and Fraunhofer (Building Physics). Mr. Gunther Adler, State Secretary of German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), visited the econet china pavilion and exchanged with the presenting German greentech companies about their development in China.

Main congress

On the two-day main congress, leading experts from Europe and China shared their insights about smart architecture, construction and building technology for China. Speakers were former vice minister of MOHURD Qiu Baoxing, state secretary Gunther Adler from BMUB, Dr. Li Congxiao from CSUS, Prof. Alexander Rudolphi from DGNB, Prof. Thomas Auer from TU München, Xie Yuanjian from Landsea, Dr. Wolfgang Feist from PHI, Dr. Hartwig Kuenzel from Fraunhofer IBP, Stephan Schütz from gmp etc., to ensure a high level exchange between Germany and China. About 500 Chinese developers, architects, investors and governmental delegates and foreign attendees were brought together Meanwhile, a two-day Architectural Technology (ATI) Forum was organized to create more promotion and communication channels for the exhibitors with their potential clients.

As one of the highlights during this year’s BCC, the DGNB China Committee was officially launched to promote the design, construction and operation of DGNB standard buildings in China. One of the targets is to look for potential cooperation opportunities with local stakeholders to establish a compatible standard to China’s green 3 stars system in the future. Landsea Bruck Passive House was awarded the first DGNB Gold Certificate in China, which acknowledges the great accomplishments in sustainability of environment, economy, society, culture and technology aspects of this building.

The event format of combining exhibition, congress and side events were well received by Chinese visitors and participants, the exhibiting scale is expected to be doubled next year, according to the organizer.
