On October 26th 2015 econet china | German Industry & Commerce Shanghai and oav (German Asia - Pacific Business Association) jointly organized a business delegation focused on energy efficiency in buildings in China under the export initiative program, which is supported by Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). Over 100 participants joined the event with 7 German companies in the area of green buildings presenting, as well as senior experts from Germany and China in this field.

The German government has been closely involved in supporting the global dissemination and transfer of technologies for green buildings under the framework of Energy Efficiency / Export Initiative Programs. The program provides German products, systems and service providers in the field of Energy Efficiency with a great opportunity to introduce their solutions to the Chinese market, as well as meet with the key industry players including Chinese authorities, design institutes and developers.

Ms. Simone Pohl, delegate and chief representative of the Delegation of German Industry & Commerce Shanghai opened the conference with a warm welcome to the business delegation and all participants. Emrah Camli, regional manager of OAV - German Asia-Pacific Business Association gave a detailed introduction to the Export Initiative and also the German companies in the delegation.

Ms. Simone Pohl (Delegate and Chief Representative of Delegation of German Industry and Commerce Shanghai) and Mr. Emrah Camli (Consultant by Order of the BMWI, oav) and others attending the conference

To give an overview of the status quo of the green building market in China, Mr. Yu Wei, deputy director of Energy Saving Department Shanghai Municipal Commission of City Development and Transport, shared the main contents, the guarantee measures and status quo of the “Shanghai Green Building Three-Year Action Plan (2014-2016)” with the audience. “From June 2014, all of the new civil buildings have been developed as at least Green Building 1 star label. By the end of 2016, 7 million m2 of existing public buildings’ energy efficiency renovation shall be finished according to the plan ” stated Yu.

Dietmar Herklotz, certified passive house planner and dena consultant, brought German experience in passive house building to the Chinese audience: “Air tightness of buildings, which can be achieved by careful construction and attention to details, plays a vital role in the success of a passive house. Without it, up to 40% of energy can be lost through thermal bridges.”

Mr. Xu Qiang, chief engineer of Shanghai Research Institute of Building Science, also elaborated on the local efforts on the Research of Technology Roadmap of Passive Ultra-Low Energy Buildings in regions with hot summers & cold winters.

During Conference

Seven companies from Germany in the field of green buildings introduced their products and services to the Chinese audience.

Intep– Integrale Planung GmbH introduced a new concept of “2000-Watt-Society” based on Germany’s Energy Strategy 2050.

Koemmerling (Tianjin) Kunststoff Co., Ltd presented their Window Solutions for Passive Houses and Low Energy Buildings.
