Sino-German cooperation on Cleaner Production in the PV Sector

2011-02-25

As China has become the main manufacturing base for solar PV producs in the world, it becomes increasingly important to look at the sustainability of the supply chain.

China’s world share in PV production is expected to reach 60% and its share in production capacity 70% this year. In order to enhance Sino-German cooperation in this area, econet china has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the China Renewable Entrepreneurs Club (CREEC), a consortium of Chinese companies from the solar industry under the umbrella of the China Renewable Energy Industry Association.

This strategic partnership will provide a framework to bring together Chinese and German industry players to create and share solutions, concepts and know-how in the solar sector.

econet china is dedicated to promoting German know-how across the Chinese solar supply chain and position the German industry in specific niches. econet integrates a consortium of German companies providing solutions for the Chinese PV industry, including process design and optimization, process machinery and automation equipment, energy and resource efficiency, recycling solutions as well as performance and strategy consulting. The partnership will also contribute to the CREEC’s goal to develop a global solutions alliance.
