2014-07-11

On 11 July, 2014, the econet mid-year partner meeting was organized to review activities provided by econet for its partners in the 1st Semester of 2014, and map out strategies for the second half of the year. Over 20 decision makers from top German green technology and product providers actively participated in the meeting.

“With the mandate to market German greentech know how in China, we are happy to share that the partner scope of econet has expanded to cover all the fields of green buildings and energy efficiency, reaching from master planning, design, engineering, materials, components, to certification and quality, all centering around the theme of energy-efficiency,” stated Ms. Nadine Ulrich, head of econet, in her opening remarks.

Ms. Ulrich further gave a brief recap of the major activities organized by econet to benefit the partners, ranging from strategic partnership with other stakeholders such as eco cities and universities, workshops/trainings to share latest industrial and policy news, networking events to bridge German technology providers with business partners and decision makers in China, to organize study tours to showcase projects of partners in Germany. “Up to date, econet is so much more than a green building service provider. In the past several years, we have been growing into related fields to all spectrums of “green” areas, particularly in industrial energy efficiency, and we are planning to continue to do so. ”

To point out a few highlights, in cooperation with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), econet is exploring the opportunities for German technology providers to get involved with the Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) in China. Following the first workshop that brought together over 20 ESCOs under State Grid of China and 15 top German companies providing energy services, a German delegation is again organized at the upcoming China Energy Conservation Service Industry Summit, which is expecting more than 200 well-performing ESCOs in China.

With econet’s strong connections in various industrial associations and government bodies, the partners are provided with numerous opportunities to get first-hand insights and information on the latest market trends and government focuses through econet-organized and promoted workshops and seminars. econet also organized German delegations to take part in various key industrial exhibitions, such as the Hospital Build China in Nanjing and the first Bau Congress China in Beijing, among others.

A series of activities are planned out for the second half of the year, such as exclusive econet salons with Chinese government authorities, top real estate enterprises, and design institutes. Taylor-made in-house trainings for targeted potential partners, such as major design institutes and industrial parks, are also under implementation for econet partners that are interested to promote a new product or technology.

To promote information and experience sharing, two econet partners were also invited to share major projects they are currently working on with other partners. Christian Boesselmann, Deputy Managing Director and Dr. Dirk Schwede of Energydesign gave a detailed introduction to the DGNB pre-certified project in Qingdao Sino-German ecopark and the Voith Factory in Kunshan. Zhuang Ziyu, Managing Director of RSAA presented the architectural design project of Tianjin No.4 Middle School, a successful representation of planning and design of mixed educational complex. The event ended with open discussion and a networking business lunch.
