BetonTage Asia first landed in China


As the largest annual concrete event in Europe with a history over half a century, BetonTage landed for the first time in China from October 15 to 16 in the name of BetonTage asia 2014.

Leading experts and scholars from China and Germany shared their expertise and insights in the prospects of industrialization in China with over 300 industry leaders and delegates. The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany Shanghai and econet china | German Industry & Commerce Shanghai supported and attended the event.

The summit was officially opened by Dr. Ulrich LOTZ, Managing Director of Concrete and Precast Associations of Baden-Wuerttemberg Germany, also CEO of FBF Bentoncdienst. As the moderator and also keynote speaker, Dr. Lotz shared Europe’s building industrialization road map and gave an overview of the latest developments in Europe. “As a leading building material in Europe, concrete and especially precast concrete’s turnover in Europe has reached approximately 26 Billion€ within which Germany takes roughly 5.1 Billion€ in 2013” as indicated by Dr. Lotz.

In addition, leading domestic experts, such as Tian Li, Executive Vice President of PC Architecture Department, Shanghai Urban Construction Municipal Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd., Professor Xue Weichen from College of Civil Engineering TongJi University and Jiang Qinjian, Chairman of China Concrete & Cement Products Association Precast Unit Committee, discussed on the differences between the Chinese and foreign building industrializations and the measures that can be taken to introduce successful leading foreign experiences into China.


On the afternoon of October 16, a field trip was organized to Baoye Wanhua City No. 23 building project in Nanhui, Shanghai. The visitors observed the whole-process dust-free field splice of precast housing and learned advanced construction techniques. The designer, constructor and developer of the project accompanied the visitors onsite.

The 2-day summit was proved to be a unique platform for facilitating the international exchange and technical innovation of the industry between industrial chain enterprises concerning technology, products and market. A cocktail reception was hosted by Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Shanghai on the evening of October 15th to welcome the high level delegates at the 1st BetonTage Asia. Dr. Peter Rothen, consul general, expressed his great pleasure to see the positive momentum of building industrialization in China and meaningful collaboration between China and Germany in this field.

BIC 2014, ie, International Building Industrialization China, was held concurrently with the summit with around 80 global leading enterprises presenting in an area of 8,000 m2. The exhibition attracted about 10, 000 professional visitors from architectural design units, building developing units, relevant industrial associations, colleges and universities.
