Zhang Yin introducing green building market in china

Mr. Zhang Yin, deputy director of the Green Building and Eco-city Research Centre opened the exchange with a thorough introduction to the history and status quo of green buildings in China. “under the national three-star green building system, developers file up to 40% of all applications in China. Major developer like Vanke, Greenland and Landsea are taking the lead in residential buildings, while Wanda, Greenland and Merchants Property stand out in the greening of their public and commercial buildings.” Similar to the imbalance of green building development among different developers, variations can also be found in geographical locations due to economic and social factors. “As of today, Jiangsu province has built the largest number of green buildings, which amounts to 316 cases. Shanghai, with a total of 102 green buildings, ranks number four only after Guangdong and Shandong province,” shared Zhang.
