econet china Half-Yearly Advisory Board Meeting for 2015 Was Successfully Held in Shanghai


On June 26th 2015, the econet half-yearly advisory board meeting was held to review activities provided by econet china for its partners in the first Semester of 2015, and outline strategies for the second half of the year. The meeting brought together over 20 decision makers from top German green technology and product providers. econet china also welcomed Dr. Saskia Schmidt from the German Consulate as a guest of honor.

Mr. Christoph Angerbauer, general manager of GIC Shanghai, opened the event by welcoming the attendees and introducing the new department head of econet china, Ms. Verena Simon. In his opening remarks, he also emphasized the vital role of econet china as a key industry platform for promoting German know-how and technology for sustainability in China.

Following that, the new head of econet china, Ms. Verena Simon continued with introducing two newly signed econet new partners: wineo and trittec. She also highlighted the key advantages of econet china as the first and only service & consulting institution of the German greentech industry to promote smart urbanization, energy efficiency and sustainable development. Ms. Simon further gave a brief recap of the major activities organized by econet china beneficiary to the partners. Ranging from strategic partnerships with other stakeholders such as newly established Passive House Alliance China and universities, econet china branded focus greentech workshops series to share latest industrial and policy news, econet salons to build a bridge for German technology providers to business partners and decision makers in China and last but not least the recently co-organized leading professional exhibition for architecture, building materials and -Bau Congress 2015 in Beijing. The econet team is always dedicated to keeping strong connections with various industrial associations and government authorities, which provides the partners with numerous opportunities to get first-hand insights and information on the latest market trends and government foci.

The second part of the meeting serves to form an action plan for the 2nd semester. econet partners were strongly encouraged to propose topics and activities of their interest. econet china takes an active role in exploring the opportunities for German technology providers to get involved in the Chinese market. Against this background, econet china will organize two German business delegations to China under the Export Initiative Program in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

Meanwhile, econet china always keeps its partners informed of the latest industry news and policies through regular i-sheets and monitors and help to promote the partners business approach.

The last part of the meeting was taken up by discussion and experience sharing. Two developers were invited to present one of the key projects they are currently working on. Mr. Yin Weigang, General Manager of Shanghai Yue Yao Real Estate Development Co.,Ltd, a subsidiary of COFCO, gave a detailed introduction of the city complex project at Qian Tan Area of former expo site in Shanghai. The master plan has been recently completed. Dr. Jari Große-Ruyken, President of the Board of German School Shanghai, presented the French-German School project, which has recently decided its new campus location at Yangpu District in Shanghai. The planning phase for the school building will be starting soon. Both project owners are interested in utilizing energy efficient solutions offered by our partner companies.
