Green building symposium unveils market opportunities for German companies in south China

A Sino - German Green Building Symposium was successfully held on November 29 in the Pearl River Tower in Guangzhou, jointly organized by Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Guangzhou , Delegation of German Industry & Commerce Guangzhou and econet china,aiming to promote German Know-How and best practice in energy efficient buildings.


This event brought together about 160 participants from governmental authorities, design institutes, industry associations, engineering and construction companies in building sector.

A half-day workshop on Energy Efficiency in Buildings was mainly designed as panel discussions with 3 sessions on creating low carbon buildings by using integrated design, optimizing the building envelope and utilization of building technologies & renewable energies.

econet china partners including engelmann, KST, Sto, SGL, TUEVRheinland and warema, presented on the latest green building solutions 'made in Germany', while the local Chinese experts introduced the current status of Guangdong province and shared experiences.

Remarkably, the Pearl River Tower as the venue of the symposium, which is an ongoing project designed & being constructed according to German standards to achieve a low energy pioneer project in South China, will be completed by next year and is known as the the most energy efficient skyscraper in the world. A project tour was organized for all the participants to get the overview of the applied technologies.
